Concept

The vision for this programme is to celebrate the relationship of the city and the sea by holding an annual celebration that will attract the community of Southampton and visitors to actively participate in sea-themed events and activities, throughout the city, at the waterside and on the water and promote and support business in the marine sector of the city’s economy. It is designed to re-connect the community of the city to the sea.

It will be a programme that enables participants to rediscover what the sea means to them and for some, possibly many, it will be the time and place where they find out that they have the talent for a particular water sport or marine-based skill, or identify new employment or business opportunities.
