Dragon Boat Challenge 2010 Saturday, 19th June 2010 The Southampton Dragon Boat Challenge is taking place on Saturday 19th June 2010 at Mayflower Park, Southampton. The Dragon Boat Challenge is open to everyone and a maximum of 15 teams are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course, watched by several thousand spectators. With plentiful parking onsite and close by, great facilities and ample land space for viewing and side activities, Mayflower Park offers a superb venue for the Challenge. As well as the colourful and exciting races, a wide range of continuous bankside entertainment including funfair, inflatable games, children's activities, food stalls and bar, guarantee a fabulous day for all the family! The ultimate team event. Dragon Boat racing is great fun and a fantastic team-building activity for businesses, clubs, community groups or a group of friends up for a challenge. Crews of paddlers, and a drummer who beats the time, race in Chinese style boats over a 250 metre course on Southampton Water. A qualified helm will join your crew to steer the craft. No experience is needed, just teamwork. To add to this atmospheric event there will be music and entertainment for all the family, so bring them along to cheer you on!
